Corrugated Animal Sculpture Art


Jeff Thomson inspired art...


Corrugated cardboard is the medium we will be using to create our own cardboard animals. 

Step 1: Research your chosen animal collecting images of it still AND in motion
Step 2: Sketch up the basic shape of your animal
Step 3: Use heavy card to create a draft design exploring shape and position
Step 4: Use corrugated cardboard to create you animal.

In this tutorial you will learn how to read, make and interpret pie charts! Pay close attention as this will form a part of you homework in in Week 5.

Welcome to Term 3

Welcome to Term 3!

There is so much to get stuck into this term! We will be exploring the following kaupapa over the course of ten weeks!

- Poetic writing Using language to produce poetic pieces of writing. A huge focus on developing our vocabulary and awareness of different poetry types.
- Food and nutrition A close look at sugar and healthy food choices
- The Rugby World Cup An exciting look at our Nation's sport and the ultimate rugby tournament. Go the ALL BLACKS
- Horticulture Growing great food for our community
- Crossfit training and fitness A change of clothes will be needed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for our crossfit training sessions.
- The art of Advertising Students will create an advertisement using the skills advertisers use on television.
- Sculpture art / Pop Art We will use the medium of paint, corrugated cardboard and tinfoil to explore shape and space using famous artists' works as inspiration.

Homework will be provided to ALL students and I encourage you all to make use of the extra time to practice and share you learning with your whanau at home.
